Description
Luc Belaire Rare Rosé is a French rosé sparkling wine from Provence in south-east France, a region long known for its rosé. It is built from the classic Provencal trio of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah: the Grenache brings richness and dark-berry aroma, the Cinsault adds elegance and a smooth texture, and the Syrah lends colour and depth. After a first fermentation in stainless steel that preserves the fresh fruit, the second fermentation follows the tank method for the bead, and a dosage of 100% Syrah gives a soft, finely integrated sweetness. The black bottle with gold lettering has become a familiar sight in the music scene.
The colour is a bright raspberry pink with a fine, long bead. The nose is fruity and floral, with ripe strawberry, raspberry and cherry alongside hints of exotic fruit and flowers. The palate is creamy and soft, balancing freshness, fruit and a gentle sweetness, closing long on red berries with a touch of spice. Serve it well chilled in a white wine glass. It suits light Mediterranean dishes, sushi and fresh seafood, grilled vegetables and summer salads, and pairs happily with red-fruit desserts, fine patisserie and mild goat's cheese.
