Description
Gordon & MacPhail of Elgin, founded 1895, long held some of the deepest Longmorn reserves. This Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength 33 Year Old is a 1987 vintage Longmorn from ex-Bourbon cask 5725, an outturn of 196 bottles.
Thirty-three years in ex-Bourbon matured the weighty Longmorn make, the American oak contributing vanilla and a gentle coconut from its lactones while slow oxidation built soft fruit.
At 51% it shows a fragrant citrus, a leafy lift and vanilla over the mature Longmorn richness, undiluted. A 1987 Connoisseurs Choice.
