Littlemill 30 Years Old 1990 (SMWS 97.24)

Founded in 1983 at The Vaults in Leith, the Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottles single casks for its members. This 30 year old Littlemill, from cask 97.24 was distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2020, from the A labyrinth for the wayward wanderer range. Every release draws down a finite store that can never be replenished.

Bottled undiluted at 57.5%, the American oak lends vanilla and a buttery note. Fragrant and clean, with orchard fruit and creamy fudge. Slow extraction from low-tannin American oak gives vanilla and a creamy sweetness without ever overpowering the make. Decades in a damp Lowland warehouse cost roughly two percent a year, alcohol leaving faster than water, softening the strength and deepening the spirit.
