Littlemill 26 Years Old 1988 Cask #136 (Gordon & Company)

Gordon & Company is a historic Glasgow bottling and blending name. This 26 year old Littlemill, from cask 136 was distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2014, in The Pearls of Scotland range. A lost distillery leaves only what was already laid down, and those reserves grow thinner each year.

Ex-Bourbon and twenty-six years round the silky, floral spirit.

At 49.9%, undiluted, the bourbon cask adds a soft vanilla frame. Soft orchard fruit, honey and vanilla lead, in the gentle Littlemill style. Hemicellulose in the toasted oak caramelises to a light butterscotch, lignin breakdown lending vanilla. Great age in a dunnage warehouse means the angel's share has taken much of the cask and gently lowered the strength, concentrating what remains.
