Littlemill 24 Years Old 1991 Cask #RO/16/02 (G&M)

Gordon & MacPhail has bottled in Elgin since 1895, the grand old name of independent bottling. A 24 year old Littlemill, from cask RO/16/02, this was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2015, from the Rare Old range. Every release draws down a finite store that can never be replenished.

A bourbon barrel and twenty-four years settle the fine, fruity Littlemill make.

Bottled at 46%, the American oak lends vanilla and a buttery note. On the palate, fresh fruit, honey, old wood, chocolate, a fragrant note, a malt note. In the ex-Bourbon cask, lignin breaks down to vanillin for the vanilla note, while oak lactones lend a soft coconut sweetness.
