Description
Andrew Symington started Signatory Vintage in 1988, a hotel manager turned one of Scotland's busiest bottlers. This 23 year old Littlemill, from cask 1151 came off the stills in 1977 and was bottled in 2001, in the Vintage Collection - Dumpy range. These are the last of Littlemill, a closed distillery's stock dwindling toward nothing.
Time in ex-Bourbon, twenty-three years of it, frames its creamy-fudge Lowland sweetness.
Bottled at cask strength, 49%, the bourbon wood lends vanilla and a clean oak edge. Creamy fudge, honey and a floral lift on the close. Furfural from the toasted oak lends a faint almond note, lignin the vanilla, the low tannins a soft frame.
