Littlemill 15 Years Old 1990 (SMWS 97.5)

Founded in 1983 at The Vaults in Leith, the Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottles single casks for its members. Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2005, this is a 15 year old Littlemill, from cask 97.5, part of the Dappled sunlight series. Nothing new will ever come from Bowling, which makes survivors like this increasingly hard to find.

It spent fifteen years in ex-Bourbon, long enough to round the delicate Lowland spirit.

Bottled at cask strength, 57.1%, vanilla rises from the ex-Bourbon over the soft fruit. Soft fruit, hay and honey over a creamy base. The American oak's low tannin let Littlemill's delicacy survive the years, contributing vanilla and a creamy lactone note.
