Lagg Inaugural Release Batch 2 3 Years Old 2019 (Oloroso)

This is Batch 2 of Lagg's Inaugural Release, the young peated Isle of Arran distillery's first single malt, a 3 year old distilled in 2019 and given a sherry character. An outturn of 10,000 bottles across the inaugural batches. Lagg opened in 2019 as the peated sister to Lochranza, reviving Arran's peated tradition.

Lagg makes a heavily peated spirit, its malt smoked to some 50ppm. Matured with an Oloroso sherry influence, the wood pulls the young smoke towards dried fruit.

Bottled at 50% without chill filtration or added colour. Guaiacol and phenols drive the young peat smoke, the Oloroso adding dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin. Tasting notes take in dried fruit, a mossy note, a sherried character, citrus, a leafy lift and smoke. The sherried batch of Lagg's first release.
