Description
This Machir Bay was bottled for Kilchoman's European Tour in 2014, a cask strength ex-Bourbon version of the flagship. Set up by Anthony Wills in 2005, Kilchoman remains Islay's only farm distillery.
The distillery malts barley on site and bottles on the farm. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks and bottled undiluted, the wood frames the young peated spirit at full power.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 59.2%. Citrus and vanilla from the ex-Bourbon meet a strong peat-phenol smoke. The recorded notes run to chocolate, citrus, a coal-gas edge, fresh fruit, a green leafy lift and honey. A tour edition Machir Bay at full strength.
