Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2024 Edition

This is the 2024 Edition of Kilchoman Loch Gorm, a 9 year old drawn from 2014 and matured fully in Oloroso sherry. Loch Gorm is the distillery's annual sherried release, named for the dark island loch. Kilchoman is Islay's only farm distillery, the first new distillery on the island in over 124 years when Anthony Wills founded it in 2005.

Every stage from malting to bottling happens at Rockside Farm. Matured in Oloroso casks, the sherry wood wraps the young peated spirit in dark fruit over nine years.

Bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour. The sherry gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, and peat phenols the smoke. The recorded notes run to smoke, a sherried character, dried fruit, a green leafy lift, malt sweetness and citrus. The 2024 sherried Loch Gorm.
