Description
This European Tour 2023 release was taken on the road to showcase Kilchoman, matured in ex-Bourbon and Port casks. An outturn of 3,325 bottles. Kilchoman is the only farm distillery on Islay, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005.
The distillery malts on site and bottles on the farm, keeping the whole process in one place. Matured in ex-Bourbon and Port casks, the bourbon wood gives the base and the Port a plummy note.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 58.5%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Port plum, while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to fresh fruit, citrus, a coal-gas edge, smoke, vanilla and a faint solvent lift. A touring farm malt.
