Description
This Denmark Single Cask Release is a 5 year old from 2008, ex-Bourbon cask 518. An outturn of 258 bottles for Denmark. Kilchoman, the island's only farm distillery, was founded by Anthony Wills in 2005.
Kilchoman malts its barley on site and bottles on the farm, a barley to bottle approach rare in Scotch. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, the wood frames the young peated spirit.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 59.5%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla and citrus while peat phenols drive the smoke. A young single cask for Denmark.
