Invergordon Batch 2 (TBWC)

Invergordon single grain is uncommon, the distillery's output largely feeding Whyte & Mackay blends rather than standalone bottlings. This release was bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company with no age statement. The outturn was 160 bottles, released for Germany.

Invergordon runs column stills over fifty feet tall on a maize and wheat mash, producing the soft, sweet grain spirit that forms the base of Whyte & Mackay's blends. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 58.3%, without dilution, the ex-Bourbon wood gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for butterscotch. Underneath the wood the grain stays soft and sweet, into a clean, mellow finish.
