Edinburgh Gin's Tiramisu is a limited edition that takes the Italian dessert as its blueprint. Freshly roasted coffee beans, creamy vanilla pods and rich cocoa nibs are set against the distillery's familiar juniper and citrus backbone, so the result reads as gin first and pudding second. It is an unapologetically indulgent bottle, dressed up for the back of the bar.
The nose opens with ground coffee, sweet vanilla and a hint of cocoa. The palate is fuller and rounder, all mascarpone softness, roasted cocoa and a thread of citrus freshness cutting through the richness. The finish runs long, holding sweetness and bitter coffee in tension. It is built for an Espresso Martini, or pour it over ice with tonic and a coffee bean.
