Description
Copeland is one of the newest names in the North, distilling at Donaghadee on the Co. Down coast since 2019 and releasing its whiskey in numbered batches as the stock comes of age. Release 25.3 is a 5 Years Old single malt drawn entirely from ex-bourbon casks and bottled for the European market.
Ex-bourbon maturation typically gives young Irish malt its cleanest voice, and in the Copeland house style that means orchard fruit, honey and malt riding vanilla and gentle coconut from the American oak. Bottled at 46%, it is an early, uncluttered statement of what this seaside distillery's spirit does on its own, before the wine and rum cask experiments of its sister releases.
