Description
Cinzano is a long-established Italian house with deep roots in Piedmont, and this Prosecco Spumante is a fully sparkling wine made from the Glera grape under the Prosecco DOC. The fizz comes from the tank method, with the second fermentation in pressurised stainless steel over a short period to keep the fruit fresh, floral and primary. It is finished in the dry style, which on the Prosecco scale sits a step sweeter than extra dry and gives a soft, rounded palate.
The colour is a pale straw with a fine, foaming bead. The nose is fresh and floral, showing apple, pear and peach with white flowers and honeysuckle. The palate is light and softly sweet, the orchard fruit balanced by a clean acidity and a citrus-peel finish. Serve cold at around six to eight degrees in a white-wine glass or flute. It makes an approachable aperitif and suits antipasti, lighter salads and fruit-based desserts.
