Chandon is the New World arm of the Moët & Chandon family, and this Garden Spritz is a ready-to-serve aperitif built on the house sparkling wine. It is flavoured with a homemade blend of macerated orange peel from organic oranges and a mix of spices, with no artificial flavourings or colourings, and carries around a third less sugar than a typical spritz. This is a fresh, primary style made for pouring straight from the bottle rather than for ageing, with the citrus and spice set against the base wine's bead.
The colour is a bright orange with a fine, lively perlage. The nose is intense, with orange fruit and spicy accents. The palate is citrus-fresh, with a balanced sweetness and gentle spice running to a fresh, harmonious finish. Serve over ice in a large glass, garnished with a slice of dried orange and a sprig of rosemary. It works as an aperitif and pairs with antipasti, charcuterie and cheese, and holds up well to lightly spiced Asian dishes.
