Chandon Garden Spritz Berries & Hibiscus

Chandon makes this Garden Spritz as a ready to serve sparkling spritz, built on its own sparkling wine and refined with an essence of raspberries and blackcurrants alongside hibiscus, herbs and spice. It sits low in alcohol at 6 per cent and is made without artificial flavourings or colourings, with the recipe leaning on natural ingredients and a little less sugar so the berry sweetness stays in balance with the fresh bead. It is designed to be poured over ice as a light, sharing style rather than a classic table wine.

In the glass it shows a bright berry colour with a fine, lively bead. The nose is all red fruit, raspberry and blackcurrant, framed by floral hibiscus and a subtle herbal note. The palate is mildly fruity and balanced, fresh and gently spiced with a harmonious sweetness, closing lively and floral. Serve well chilled over ice, ideally with mint and fresh raspberries. It suits goat cheese tartlets with honey and thyme, red berry tarts and light desserts.
