Description
Casa Dragones Joven is a 100% Blue Weber tequila built as a blend of a young blanco and a five year extra anejo rested in new American oak, produced in Jalisco for the house founded by Bertha Gonzalez Nieves. Joven is not a formal aging class under NOM-006; it simply means a blanco married with aged tequila, which is exactly what this is, finished with a gentle charcoal filtration that strips colour back to clear much like a cristalino.
The result leans deliberately light and refined rather than rustic. Subtle floral and citrus aromas sit over sweet roasted agave, with vanilla, honey, oak and pear on the palate. The finish is clean and warm, carrying lingering oak and a touch of hazelnut. Each bottle is finished by hand and the cork fitted to its flask, and at 40% it reads as a soft, polished sipping style shaped as much by the aged component as by the agave.
