Description
Bortolin Angelo farm this Prosecco in Cartizze, the most prized cru within the Valdobbiadene DOCG, where steep Prealp slopes and a cool microclimate give ideal, slow ripening and demand that every vine be worked by hand. The wine is made entirely from Glera, and its fizz comes from a second fermentation in pressurised tank by the Charmat method, which sets a fine, creamy bead while keeping the fruit bright. At around 24 grams of residual sugar it carries the traditional sweeter Dry dosage of Cartizze, balanced by the site's natural finesse.
The wine is a light straw yellow with a fine, creamy perlage. The nose is harmonious, with stone fruit, a subtle mineral note and a hint of jasmine. The palate is juicy, elegant and dense, with peach and apricot over a finely structured, rounded frame, closing long with delicate fruit and a soft sweetness. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a larger glass. Suited to light pastries, fresh salads, fish dishes and fine aperitifs.
