Description
Bols Cacao White comes from Lucas Bols, the Amsterdam house distilling and blending liqueurs since 1575, and sits within the brand's range of bar liqueurs, bottled at 24% in 70cl. It is made by combining high-quality cocoa, whole milk and alcohol into a smooth, balanced liqueur, the white variant lighter and milder than the brown Cacao. In the chocolate liqueur style it leans soft and sweet rather than dark and roasted.
The nose is white chocolate with a light vanilla note and a subtle milky freshness, the palate creamy and mild with a clear white chocolate note and delicate vanilla and milk, the finish slow and smooth with a pleasant white chocolate and vanilla close. Its job in a glass is soft sweetness and a pale, creamy body, which makes it a natural in a White Chocolate Martini, a White Russian or a Banana Colada, and a useful dessert note where a darker cocoa would read too heavy. Pour it neat over ice or stir it into creamy serves.
