Bols Peppermint White Liqueur

Bols Peppermint White is the colourless creme de menthe style liqueur in the Bols range, made by the Amsterdam house distilling and blending since 1575. Mint is carried on a neutral distilled spirit and sweetened into a clear, water white liqueur at 24%, in the traditional style of a peppermint liqueur, with the colour left out so it can flavour a drink without tinting it.

The nose is fresh, intense mint with a cool note, the palate refreshing and lively with a clear mint flavour and a mild sweetness, the finish long and cool. Behind the bar that clarity is the point: it adds cooling mint and sweetness without changing a drink's colour. It carries a Grasshopper alongside creme de cacao and cream, lifts a peppermint mojito or martini, and freshens a classic mint julep. Serve it well chilled and reach for it whenever a serve needs mint but should stay pale.
