Description
Blue Spot completes the modern Spot family as its cask strength release, a pot still whiskey aged seven years and bottled undiluted. Made at the Midleton distillery in East Cork from malted and unmalted barley, this expression was released in 2023 for the European market at 59.1%, carrying the Mitchell and Son bonding heritage into a fuller, stronger style.
The maturation draws on ex-bourbon American oak for vanilla and coconut, Oloroso sherry for dried fruit and walnut, and Madeira for a sweet, nutty lift. Together they frame the pot still core of green apple, honey and pepper, with the high strength pushing an oily, spiced finish. Triple distilled and unpeated, in the Midleton house character.
