Description
Don Julio 1942 is the flagship Añejo of the Don Julio house, now owned by Diageo and produced at NOM 1449 in Atotonilco el Alto in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco. Built from Blue Weber agave, it is named for the year Don Julio González founded the distillery and is made in small batches before extended resting in oak. This listing pairs the bottle with an illuminated base and two engraved tasting glasses.
Aged a minimum of two and a half years, it sits at the rounded, polished end of the category. The profile leans on warm oak, vanilla and roasted agave, with a soft, sweet leaning texture suited to drinking neat at room temperature. Bottled at 38%, it is a highland Añejo where barrel sweetness carries as much weight as the agave beneath it.
