Description
Baglietti works in the Prosecco DOC zone of the Veneto and farms this wine's Glera to organic guidelines. It is a straightforward tank-method Prosecco, with the second fermentation run in stainless steel to keep the fruit fresh and primary rather than to build autolytic depth. The organic farming is the point of difference here; the winemaking itself follows the classic Charmat template that gives Prosecco its clean orchard character and steady perlage. Finished Brut, it stays on the drier side of the house range.
The wine pours pale straw with a fine, persistent bead. The nose is fruity and floral, with ripe apple, pear and white blossom. The palate is soft and lively, balanced fruit meeting a gentle freshness, the mousse giving an easy, rounded feel before a fresh, fruit-driven finish. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass or flute. It works as an aperitif and pairs with antipasti, light fish, seafood and summer salads.
