Description
Baglietti sources this Prosecco from vineyards across the protected DOC zone in northern Italy, working with Glera in the classic tank method. The second fermentation runs in stainless steel, which keeps the wine's orchard fruit fresh and primary and gives the fine, steady perlage expected of the style. Unlike the house's Brut, this bottling is finished Extra Dry, a notch sweeter, which rounds the palate and pushes the fruit forward while the acidity keeps it lively. There is no oak or lees influence here; the appeal is in clean, easy drinkability.
The wine is a light straw with a fine, persistent bead. The nose is fresh, with green apple, pear and delicate blossom. The palate is lively and fruity, a balanced acidity carrying the orchard character to a fresh, elegant close. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass or flute. It makes a versatile aperitif and pairs with antipasti, light starters, seafood, salads and simple pasta.
