Description
This is Baglietti's rosé take on Prosecco, made under the DOC that allows a portion of Pinot Nero to be blended with Glera for colour and red fruit. The grapes come from certified organic farming, which the house uses to keep the fruit clear and clean. Vinification follows the tank method, the second fermentation held in stainless steel to protect the delicate red-berry aromatics and produce a fine, lively perlage. At eleven per cent and finished Extra Dry, it is light and approachable, with just enough sweetness to round the fruit.
The colour is a delicate pink with a fine, lively bead. The nose leads with strawberry and red berries over soft floral notes. The palate is fresh and fruity, red currant and a hint of pomegranate carried by bright acidity and an elegant, light structure to an animated finish. Serve chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It makes a pretty aperitif and suits antipasti, light poultry, charcuterie and berry-led desserts.
