Patrón El Cielo

Patrón El Cielo was created to challenge the idea that additional distillation strips flavour from tequila. It is the world’s first quadruple-distilled tequila, developed to refine character rather than dilute it. Produced using the smallest copper pot still at Hacienda Patrón, the four-stage distillation process allows greater control and precision, focusing the natural sweetness and citrus character of cooked agave while delivering a noticeably smoother profile than standard double-distilled blancos.

The tequila is made from fully mature Blue Weber agave grown in Los Altos, slow-cooked in traditional ovens to develop concentrated sugars and cooked agave depth. Extraction combines tahona stone milling with roller milling before the spirit is distilled four times in copper. According to Patrón’s master distilling team, the additional distillation passes are used to remove roughness and excess weight while preserving complexity, resulting in a lighter yet more expressive tequila.

Bottled unaged at 40% ABV, El Cielo presents clean cooked agave, bright citrus, and subtle herbal lift on the nose. The palate is precise and polished, with sweet agave, citrus peel, and a notably clean, refined finish. Designed for drinkers who value clarity and balance, Patrón El Cielo sits apart from traditional blancos as a technique-driven expression suited to both neat drinking and high-spec cocktails.
