Description
Dona Celia Reposado is a 100% Blue Weber tequila from Jalisco, presented in a hand painted porcelain decanter that nods to La Catrina, the skeletal society figure etched by Jose Guadalupe Posada in 1910. The agave is drawn from both the lowland valley and the highlands, so the blend leans on two soil signatures rather than a single terroir.
The piñas are cooked in brick hornos and autoclaves, the cooked agave extracted by roller mill, fermented in steel tanks and distilled twice as is usual for tequila. The spirit then rests six months in former whiskey bourbon casks before bottling. Aromas of agave, oak, pepper, caramelised fruit and sugared almond lead into a palate of oak, vanilla and cinnamon with roasted pepper, brandied cherry and honey. The finish is soft and smooth, the oak sitting lightly over a still-present agave core.
