Green agave, honey and a floral lift of apple and pear mark this Doña Celia Blanco, an unaged Jalisco tequila bottled in hand painted porcelain, earthy and peppery with a fresh citrus edge.
Description
Doña Celia Blanco is a 100% Blue Weber tequila from Casa Maestri in Jalisco, the unaged member of the Doña Celia range and presented in the same hand painted porcelain bottle that nods to La Catrina. The agave comes from both the lowland valley and the Jalisco highlands, giving the blend a foot in each terroir.
The agave is cooked in brick hornos and autoclaves, extracted on a roller mill, fermented in steel tanks and twice distilled, then bottled clear to show the spirit at its most direct. The nose is sweet with honey, green agave and a little pepper, with a floral and fruity lift of apple and pear. The palate turns earthy and vegetal with mint, raw agave, citrus and pepper, the unaged build keeping the cooked agave and the pepper of the spirit front and centre.
