Long Pond S.B.S (Single Origin Rum) TECC 2022

This is a Single Barrel Selection from 1423 of Denmark, drawing on Long Pond, the historic Trelawny Wedderburn house known for funky, fruit-forward and sometimes polarising rum. The TECC marque sits near the top of Long Pond's ester range, so this is high-octane Jamaican character with no oak to soften it.

Distilled from molasses on a double-retort pot still and bottled unaged at 57%, it leads with pineapple, glue and pungent esters, then turns oily and intense across the palate with olive, buttery weight and an herbal, dry finish. The funk is the point here, and at this strength and ester level it reads as a flavouring spirit that comes alive in a Mai Tai or a powerful Daiquiri rather than as a neat pour. Unsweetened and uncompromising, it suits drinkers chasing the wild end of Jamaican pot still.
