Description
The 16 Year Old is Longmorn's benchmark official bottling, the one that finally gave a wider audience access to a malt long hidden inside blends. Founded near Elgin in 1894 by John Duff, Longmorn has been called every distiller's favourite apart from their own, and a key thread in Chivas Regal.
Sixteen years in ex-Bourbon suit Longmorn's weighty Speyside spirit, the low-tannin American oak lending vanilla through lignin breakdown without thinning the body.
At 48% it shows honey, vanilla and chocolate with citrus and a fragrant, mossy depth, the rich fruit-led character that earned the distillery its quiet renown. The connoisseur's Speyside.
