R&B Distillers bottled this Cambus single grain, aged 27 year old and bottled at 52%. Just 564 bottles were filled. Cambus was a founding distillery of DCL, making grain whisky in Clackmannanshire until it closed in 1993. John Moubray converted an old mill, switching from malt to grain stills in the 1830s.

The spirit was made in twin Coffey stills before the distillery closed, for a light, sweet make of real purity. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak for decades, the wood adding coconut and vanilla. Past twenty five years the spirit turns oily and dessert sweet while staying clean. Light grain takes oak readily, the ex-Bourbon lending coconut and vanilla over many years. Cambus was founded around 1806 by John Moubray on the River Devon in Clackmannanshire, one of Scotland's oldest grain distilleries. It was one of the five grain distilleries that founded the Distillers Company Limited in 1877. In 1906 its grain was advertised as not a headache in a gallon, helping win the What is Whisky case.

Undiluted at 52%, it is layered. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, cream and a dessert sweetness. The texture is oily and buttery, the sweetness coating. The finish is deep, oily and creamy. This is a finite single grain from Cambus, closed in 1993.
