Description

That Boutique-y Whisky Company, known for its comic-strip labels, released this 10 Year Old, an outturn of 445 bottles. Mortlach's heavy, savoury style comes from worm-tub condensing and a part-triple distillation through the Wee Witchie, unchanged since 1897.

Ten years in a rum cask gave the gamey, savoury spirit a tropical, brown-sugar sweetness over the meaty weight.

At 45.8% it shows brown sugar, tropical fruit and spice over the meaty Mortlach body. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
