Mortlach 13 Years Old 1999 Cask #7900 + 01 (Signatory Vintage)

Signatory Vintage, the Edinburgh independent founded in 1988, drew this 13 Year Old: a small parcel of casks, a 1999 vintage, an outturn of 851 bottles. Mortlach's heavy, savoury style comes from worm-tub condensing and a part-triple distillation through the Wee Witchie, unchanged since 1897.

Thirteen years in ex-Bourbon let oak meet weight, vanilla and honey from lignin and wood sugars settling over the muscular Dufftown spirit.

At 43% it shows citrus, honey and an oak-framed depth framed by the dense Dufftown spirit. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
