Description
From Malts of Scotland, an independent bottler, this 12 Year Old is a 2008 from cask MoS 20051, an outturn of 129 bottles. Founded in Dufftown in 1823, Mortlach owes its rich, meaty weight to worm-tub condensers and the unusual 2.81 distillation devised by Alexander Cowie.
By twelve years the Oloroso had married the dense Mortlach spirit, melanoidins lending dried fruit and chocolate to the savoury depth.
At 55.6% it shows chocolate and citrus, undiluted. Mortlach at full weight.
