Duncan Taylor, the Huntly independent founded in 1938 with one of Scotland's deepest cask inventories, whose Rarest of the Rare range holds its oldest stocks. Mosstowie was the heavier malt Miltonduff made on its Lomond stills between 1964 and 1981, a separate spirit from the same Speyside distillery. This 33 Year Old, distilled in 1975, comes from ex-Bourbon cask 5816, an outturn of 184 bottles.

Across thirty-three years heavy evaporation and slow oxidation refined the fuller Mosstowie spirit, the strength drifting toward 40% as the angels took their share. A humid Speyside warehouse drew the strength down over the years.

At 48.4% it shows deep mature orchard fruit and vanilla, undiluted. A 1975 Mosstowie.
