Mosstowie 35 Years Old 1979 Cask #1356 (van Wees)

From Van Wees, the Dutch house behind The Ultimate range's Rare Reserve range, this 35 Year Old is a 1979 vintage. Mosstowie was the heavier malt Miltonduff made on its Lomond stills between 1964 and 1981, a separate spirit from the same Speyside distillery. From ex-Bourbon cask 1356, a release of 173 bottles.

Thirty-five years in ex-Bourbon pushed the oily Mosstowie spirit to a fragile, ethereal depth, long oxidation and esters bringing beeswax, sandalwood and soft tropical fruit.

At 51.8% it shows citrus, a savoury depth, fresh fruit, a glasshouse-green note, hay and honey, undiluted. A 1979 Mosstowie 35.
