Description
From Signatory Vintage's Cask Strength Collection, this 28 Year Old is a 1979 vintage. Mosstowie was the heavier malt Miltonduff made on its Lomond stills between 1964 and 1981, a separate spirit from the same Speyside distillery. From ex-Bourbon casks 12771 and 12772, 232 bottles filled.
Twenty-eight years in a bourbon cask, much of it past peak extraction, left the heavier Mosstowie make stewed and leathery, the alcohol slowly leaving for the angels.
At 49.9% it shows mature orchard fruit and vanilla, undiluted. A 1979 Mosstowie 28.
