Lochlea Sowing Edition (First Crop)

The Sowing Edition is the springtime member of Lochlea's seasonal Crop series, each release tied to a stage of the farming year and gone once sold out. This First Crop is a 4 year old matured entirely in first-fill bourbon, an outturn of 7,000 bottles.

First-fill American oak gives generously, lignin breaking down to vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones lending a soft coconut sweetness over the distillery's own barley.

At 48% it shows honey, vanilla and fresh orchard fruit with a hay-like freshness and a faint mineral edge, the lightest, brightest face of Lochlea. The First Crop Sowing.
