Littlemill 21 Years Old 1992 Cask #601 (Hart Brothers)

Glasgow's Hart Brothers has released single-cask Scotch since the 1960s. The cask was filled in 1992 and bottled in 2013, a 21 year old Littlemill, from cask 601, in the Finest Collection range. These are the last of Littlemill, a closed distillery's stock dwindling toward nothing.

Twenty-one years in Oloroso layer the cask onto the fragrant Lowland character.

Bottled at cask strength, 53%, the Oloroso lends raisin, fig and a nutty spice. Expect an oily texture. European oak is far more tannic than American, so the sherry cask builds structure and a dry, nutty grip beside its dried-fruit sweetness.
