Description

Barrow is part of anCnoc's peated range, each named for a peat-cutting tool, this a travel retail Limited Edition bottled in 2014, an outturn of 7,500 bottles. Knockdhu distillery, in Banffshire, sells its malt as anCnoc so it would not be mistaken for Knockando.

Since its 1989 revival under Inver House, the distillery has run the odd peated batch. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks, the bourbon vanilla balances the gentle peat.

Bottled at 46%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla as peat phenols lend the smoke. The profile runs to a coal-gas edge, citrus, honey and an oily texture. A peated anCnoc named for a peat tool.
