Description
The Dutch bottler van Wees released this 12 year old 2008 Knockdhu for its Ultimate Cask Strength range from ex-Bourbon cask 9, an outturn of 690 bottles. Official releases carry the anCnoc name, leaving independents to bottle under Knockdhu, near Knock in Banffshire.
Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask over twelve years, the oak deepen the malt with vanilla and light oak spice.
Bottled without dilution at 57.4%. The cask gives vanilla over a gentle coconut sweetness. Tasting notes take in dried fruit, citrus, a nutty note, a sherried hint, a coal-gas edge and a faint solvent lift. An independent single cask.
