Kininvie Hazelwood 20 Years Old

This Hazelwood Centennial Reserve is a 20 year old blended malt centred on Kininvie, the elusive William Grant & Sons distillery built in 1990 at Dufftown. Bottled in 2001 with an outturn of 2,001 bottles, it marked a company milestone and carried the Hazelwood name used for the family's rare malts, after the home of Janet Sheed Roberts.

Kininvie was built to supply malt for William Grant blends and rarely appears alone, making a light, floral Speyside spirit on the Balvenie site. Matured in ex-Bourbon, the wood frames the malt with vanilla.

Bottled at 40%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for toffee over a soft, floral character. A commemorative Hazelwood from a distillery seldom seen on a label.
