Kilchoman Vintage 9 Years Old 2010

This Vintage release is a 9 year old from 2010, a dated-vintage Kilchoman in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso. A larger outturn of 15,000 bottles. Kilchoman is Islay's only farm distillery, the first new distillery on the island in over 124 years when Anthony Wills founded it in 2005.

Kilchoman handles malting through bottling on its own Islay farm. Matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks over nine years, the two woods give vanilla and dried fruit.

Bottled at 48%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Oloroso dried fruit, while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to smoke, citrus, a medicinal edge, fresh oak, vanilla and fresh fruit. A dated-vintage farm malt.
