Description
The Yuza Single Malt Japanese Whisky is the distillery's own-label NAS expression, bottled in 2023 from Yuza Distillery in coastal Yamagata, a site founded in 2018 and operated by Kinryu. It represents a straightforward statement of the distillery's character without the complexity of a specific vintage or finish, aimed at the domestic Japanese market.
Maturation in Ex-Bourbon barrels gives the whisky its clean, sweet foundation of fresh fruit and vanilla, and at 51% cask strength the spirit comes through with texture and directness. Yuza's precise, small-batch approach is evident in the clarity of the result: a lively, fruit-forward single malt that carries the coastal Yamagata environment in its freshness and keeps the bourbon wood as a supportive background influence rather than a dominant one.
