Description
Whitley Neill distils in London to a recipe known for its African botanicals, and this Pink Grapefruit edition turns that signature toward the Mediterranean. The classic base of juniper, coriander seed, cassia bark, angelica root and lemon and orange peel is given a generous lift of ripe Spanish pink grapefruit, the fruit chosen for its juicy, slightly tart intensity. At 41.3% it holds its juniper structure while letting the citrus sing.
The nose is fresh and tangy with clear grapefruit, lemon and fine juniper; the palate is balanced and fruity, juicy grapefruit and citrus over light sweetness and a whisper of spice. The finish is long and refreshing with a gentle bitter edge. Pour it over ice with a Mediterranean tonic and a slice of pink grapefruit, or a sprig of rosemary if you want to draw out the herbal side.
