TU Tequila Tequila Blanco

TU Tequila Blanco is a terroir blended 100% agave tequila, contract produced at the large Casa Maestri facility, that draws together Blue Weber agave from both the Jalisco lowlands and the higher highland regions. The lowland and highland components are made by different methods entirely, then married and bottled directly, an unusual approach pitched at the European bar trade as a value sipper and mixer.
The lowland agave is cooked in a stone oven, crushed with a tahona, fermented in open wooden tanks on natural yeast and twice distilled in pot stills. The highland agave is cooked in an autoclave, shredded by a multi stage mill, fermented in stainless steel and twice pot distilled. The blanco shows herbal, citrus and spice notes from the lowland side alongside fruity cherry and pear from the highlands, with sweet agave, a touch of grapefruit and black pepper on a balanced palate.
