A firmer malt presence sets The Wild Geese Rare Irish apart, a Cooley distilled blend named for Ireland’s emigrant soldiers, matured in ex-bourbon American oak for honey, baked apple and vanilla and bottled at 43% for Europe.

Description
The Wild Geese Rare Irish, carrying the range's Untamed motto, is the step up blend in a line named for Ireland's soldier emigrants of the seventeenth century. It is Cooley whiskey from Co. Louth, a no age statement marriage of malt and grain bottled at 43% for Europe.
A higher malt presence and the extra strength distinguish it from the Classic Blend, ex-bourbon American oak drawing vanilla, honey and baked apple from the spirit with a longer, maltier finish. Cooley double distills in the Scottish manner, and that extra weight shows here, giving a blend with enough backbone to sip neat while staying in the easy, generous house register.
