Description
The Wild Geese Fourth Centennial, subtitled Untamed, is a commemorative edition of the diaspora brand, marking four centuries since Irish nobles and soldiers first took flight for the Continent. The whiskey is a blend distilled at Cooley in Co. Louth and bottled at 43% for the European market.
Ex-bourbon American oak maturation gives it the range's signature warmth, honey and vanilla over fresh fruit and toffee, with the higher strength adding a firmer malt presence than the standard blend. Cooley's double distilled malt anchors the marriage, and the result is a slightly more serious pour wrapped in the brand's emigrant story, made to toast departures and returns alike.
